The day has come that we leave our cute little apartment behind us. We are loading up the last of our things and will soon be on our way to our new home in Florida. It seems this last month the time has flown by. We’ve had many friends taking us to dinner, cooking us meals, spending time with us and showing their support. it really has been amazing and we do not take for granted how blessed we are. As we move forward in the next part of our journey we are excited for what lies ahead. But first we must make the long trip there.
With Gene behind the wheel of the very large U-Haul towing a trailer and me following along this is going to be a long tedious task. our goal is to not over exhaust ourselves and get to each planned destination early and get a nice hot meal and a good nights sleep. We won’t be taking the time to stop and visit friends and family along the way, not on this trip. We have our eyes on the prize to just get to our new home. Stay focused Darlene, this is not a vacation!

Well as I have said before, I’ve really enjoyed this apartment city living experience. It has served us well. Gene and I have a passion for life experiences and have brought our girls up with travel and adventures. We wanted them to know there is a whole great big world out there with many diverse cultures to experience and enjoy. We are so glad we took those amazing road trips and traveled with them. They were the lucky few who have gotten to see most of America, traveled abroad and experienced so much as teenagers.
Today we will spend time with our family, say our see ya laters and tomorrow morning we hit the road. No looking backwards, no regrets. Just another new experience and hopefully we have found our forever home.
And off we go….
