Will This Ever Get Old?

I wake up every single day with gratitude that I get to live where people vacation. I’ve spent my life dreaming of this and now it has become a reality and I feel like I should pinch myself that I’m really here living out my dream.

Is it perfect? Of course not, but for me it is as close as I can get. So another busy week has passed, we still have workers coming and going trying to finish up little odds and ends repairs. We have almost completed the interior decorating. We have finally gotten the sink cabinet for the laundry and today picked out the quartz countertop. they’ll come tomorrow to take measurements and we should have our laundry room set up in the next two weeks. It saved us money by doing it ourselves but it has been a process, so many delays these days.

We found a couple of really cute shops full of that coastal decor we both like so much so we are planning on revisiting very soon to finish up the small odds and ends. I’m ready to be finished, it has been fun but I also want to get to more of the enjoyment part living. I just purchased pickle ball rackets and balls, its quite popular here and we are really excited to get started learning. Gene has a friend that he goes with on Fridays and golfs with and we are looking at taking dance lessons. We signed up for a connection class at church and took our first of two classes on Saturday, we complete the class this next weekend, and soon I’m going to start a refresher golf lessons course. Its been a lot of years since my back surgery and I haven’t played golf since a year before that when I sustained a back injury. I’m excited to get started again. I used to really enjoy playing.

We are also planning a little get away in the next few weeks, it’s time to start exploring our surroundings. We haven’t made a final decision on our destination but we can’t lose with any of the options we are looking at. And somewhere in the next few weeks we will make a short trip back to Washington.

This was my birthday week and I felt very loved on my special day. My hubs took me to a very nice dinner by the beach, I got cards, phone calls, texts, Facebook messages from family and friends, and I got flowers from my daughter and her family, and my husband gifted me with a beautiful new watch, fitbit and a future date for a couples massage. The day after my birthday one of my best friends treated me to a mani/pedi and lunch followed by a walk on the beach. It was a beautiful way to celebrate the big 6-0!!

We finished off the week visiting our friend who also just moved here from Washington having happy hour at her new place with a couple who lives behind her and then going to dinner after. It was nice to get out and socialize a little.

We have another busy week ahead, our refrigerator for our garage is being delivered today as well as the night stands for the guest bedroom, and later today we will head down to this really fun home decor shop we found to look for lamps. I believe tomorrow Genes cabinets for his garage are supposed to arrive and then maybe we can finally get the garage cleaned up enough to put a car in it.

WOW, What a concept. Lol

We have also started golf cart shopping. We would like to get a golf cart as this is a very popular thing to have here. We live near a beautiful golf course and it would be convenient, a lot of people here use their golf carts to run to the local market and up to the club house, as well as golf, plus I think they are just fun, they are quite popular here and the weather allows its use. Not in a hurry to purchase as we don’t have room to park it yet but starting the shopping process.

We are definitely getting into our groove here. I feel like I’ve been slowed down, I was diagnosed with achilles Tendonitis a few weeks ago and was in a walking boot for the last two week’s. I’m trying to find a foot doctor here to follow up, I was diagnosed by my Doctor in Washington while we were there visiting in December and he told me to find a podiatrist here. So that’s another goal of mine this week is to try to find some new doctors here.

It takes a lot to move over three thousand miles and getting settled into everything will take time. I have to keep reminding myself that it all is not going to happen over night. I tend to want things done now and patience in waiting is not my best asset.

Well, off to the start of a new week. I wish you all a very Happy New Year. May this year bring you, health, prosperity and joy.
