Seattle Bound

Two weeks after arriving in Florida, three weeks after leaving Washington in our moving truck and making that long drive all the way across the country, we have boarded a flight and are heading back to Washington to celebrate our granddaughters birthdays.

After arriving to the airport in Seattle and having the temperatures greet us with a chilly fifty two degrees and rain pouring down we both agreed we do not miss this weather and traffic at all and are so happy with our decision.

The best part of coming back here and our reason for returning has everything to do with our family. When we walked into the door of our daughters house and the kids all came running to us so excited to see us, climbing all over us, full of hugs and kisses, weather doesn’t matter at all, we will suffer through the traffic and cold rain. There is nothing better in the world than the love we receive from the littles.
I got very little sleep before leaving so after taking the family to dinner we returned to my parents house, visited for a bit and crashed into a blissful seven hours of sleep which for me is beyond great.
We took time to do birthday shopping, did a little Christmas shopping and visited our sons grave. I had time to squeeze in a doctors appointment, and got refills on all of our prescriptions while here. We are glad we left a car here, it has been handy having wheels here to use not depending or relying on someone else to get around.

We have spent a lot of our time on day three errand running, and then picked up dinner, ate at our younger daughters house and snagged the three bigger kids to come do a sleepover at great grandmas house. The kids were great, we had a little reminder talk how to behave at great grandmas as shes old and not in the best of health and I am proud to say the kids were extremely well behaved. I am so proud of my grandchildren, they are well mannered and so respectful. We don’t see a lot of that these days in society so knowing mine are gives me a great feeling of pride.

And today is our final day here before we head home tomorrow. Our day is packed full, we have the birthday celebration this afternoon and we are going to try and do a little more Christmas shopping before we leave. We are so grateful our parents have made room for us and are allowing us to leave gifts here for Christmas. It makes it so much easier to plan to shop and will save us hundreds in shipping costs.

Well, it’s early and I need to get up and get moving. I have three kids to cook breakfast for this morning in a kitchen I am unfamiliar in. Time to party, shop and pack up! Then homeward bound tomorrow! It’s been a quick trip but has filled my heart. That should hold me until next time.
