The weeks have passed and I’ve meant to keep updating as we go but time has gotten away from me. We’ve had friends from Idaho come to visit and really enjoyed our time with them.
We spent a beach day relaxing, went on a dolphin boat tour and seen several dolphin, played miniature golf, and some friends who live in the Shores took us out on their boat and we puttered down the St. Johns river in search for alligators. I think that was the highlight as there were several and we even got to see a grand daddy gator about thirteen or more feet long and that is not some crazy fish tale. He was H-U-G-E, and of course we took them for a ride on the golf cart.
We are now back in Washington, flew in yesterday to see the family for Easter and then Monday we head out for a month long road trip to visit some national parks. The biggest excitement we’ve had is to find out we are going to be grandparents again. Nine biological and three bonus, so now we are at a dozen and it sounds like this will be the last.
We got to see the kiddos yesterday and this morning had breakfast with our eldest who will be Twenty in two more weeks. had dinner with some friends today, stopped in and seen some other friends and also did some shopping and stuffed easter baskets for all the grands. its been a busy two days. Tomorrow is time with all the children and a little bit of meal prep for Easter dinner and visiting our former Church for Easter services, then Sunday is Easter and Monday we pull out for our journey.
I am ready to get this trip started and begin knocking off places to see that are on our bucket list.
Every day life in Florida feels like a new adventure, we have taken up pickle ball and that is fun, we took golf lessons, we go to the beach about once a week, go for bike rides, take long walks and are just thoroughly enjoying this new life we are building called retirement. I can’t believe we have officially passed the six month mark and are moving into our seventh month of being Floridians.
Time really does fly when your having fun and boy are we ever having a good time.
