Ten hours later and day one of driving is behind us, that was a long day! Driving through this part of the country makes me think about how the pioneers did it. My gosh can you imagine driving across America in a wagon? I mean, this is tough in a truck as it is, but I cannot imagine leaving family and friends and your home behind in search of the complete unknown. Imagine the hardships they had to endure all in hopes of a new beginning. No hotels, restaurants or gas stations along the way, no rest stops to take a break, just a really rough ride in the back of a wagon, sitting behind a smelly horse with bare essentials bumping along following the ruts of wagon wheels that have gone before in hopes of that new fresh start.
I think if I were alive during those times I would have made the decision to stay put! This is a girl who likes her comforts and pioneering sounds just awful to me. I’m grateful for those in the past who foraged ahead to make a way for all of us. They were much stronger than I. God bless em’.

Hello Idaho
So we say goodbye to Washington, the first state we passed through was Oregon, and the final stop for day one is Boise Idaho. we had a wonderful visit with Gene’s sister and her fiancee’ and we look forward to them coming to visit us in a few months. Day one went off without a hitch, we had clear dry roads and hope the rest of the trip goes as smoothly.

There is so much wide open space across this great land of ours. This is not our first trip across the US of A and it certainly wont be our last. We have plans for plenty of road trips in the future. But before we start planning those lets keep this wagon train moving and get to our destination.
Wagons Ho….
