In the last two weeks we have traveled from Washington to Florida, spent eleven busy days meeting with the builder, going to design center for last minute changes, meeting with landscapers, pest control, opening new bank accounts, setting up utilities, snuck in a little beach time, dinner with friends, shopping for furniture and closing on our house, then flying home, spending our one day home doing laundry, packing up the final few boxes, unpacking and repacking our suitcases and then the next day getting in our car driving to Idaho, spending an evening with friends, picking up our rental truck and making the seven hour drive back home, dropping the truck at storage, driving to my sisters farm where we have our utility trailer parked, picked that up, drove back to storage, dropped a couple of things at storage and headed back to our apartment. I can say I am exhausted just writing this. Whew!!
And as I am writing this I am struggling a little, our leaving is not going to be as planned. we were supposed to spend time with all of our family this weekend celebrating our two granddaughters birthdays but the kids have all been fighting a virus, not covid thank God, but regardless the families have sick kids and then my one daughter is not feeling well so the celebration we were planning will not happen and we will not get to say our goodbyes the way we had hoped. It’s a bummer but it is life and we will be back in a few weeks.
So as I ponder all of the craziness the last two weeks have brought and the sadness of leaving I’m also very excited for what lies ahead. I am really looking forward to new adventures. Tomorrow the movers come, they will load up our life into a truck and in just a few short days we will be driving across this beautiful country of ours. One of my favorite quotes seems appropriate right now,
“Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”. Oh how true this is.
I’m completely entranced by the beauty of the sea, the smell of the salt water, the wind blowing, the sounds of children playing, the crashing of the waves, and the sun reflecting off the water, it all calms my soul, gives me peace and brings me pure joy. I am ready to get there and get going.
Lets get this convoy rolling…..
